History

Simmi's Boutique has been a part of the fashion landscape since 2006. Inspired by my stylish mom, Simmi, we embarked on this journey when compliments from my classmates' parents, Mission Dolores faculty, and our neighbors started pouring in. It was then that Simmi realized the genuine interest in Indian items. With the idea of sharing Indian culture with everyone, she traveled extensively across India, building up our inventory, and started showcasing our collection at booths and stalls during community events like fiestas, carnivals in SF, and local markets.

On August 15, 2011, Simmi's Boutique was officially registered with the city, and with the support of MEDA, we secured a prime spot at 19th and Mission, where we proudly opened our doors to the public. As the first Indian boutique in San Francisco, we are forever grateful for the Mission community and our friends. Living in this culturally rich part of the city granted us a safe space to share fragments of our culture through Simmi's Boutique, offering a daily dose of desi to everyone.

Unfortunately, we had to close our doors in 2014 due to a family emergency. However, in 2020, the pandemic presented us with a unique opportunity to relaunch the boutique, and without hesitation, we seized it. And here we are, back to serve you once again.

We missed you all.
