At Simmi's Boutique, we are a passionate mother-daughter duo deeply immersed in the world of ethnic Indian street fashion. Our love for this vibrant style has led us on an incredible journey that we're excited to share with you.
Our journey began with a purpose that extended beyond profit. Growing up without an Indian community, my mom wanted me to embrace my culture, feel comfortable wearing Indian clothing, appreciate our textiles, and understand the craftsmanship behind the outfits that were once tucked away in my closet.
When we made the difficult decision to close our business in 2014, we carefully packed away all our inventory that had been curated by my mom. These cherished items were stored away, meticulously preserved, and are still in pristine condition to this day. Over the years, we often contemplated what to do with this valuable collection.
Then, as fate would have it, the pandemic struck, and I found myself unexpectedly laid off. Suddenly, I had the gift of time on my hands, and it sparked a new idea. Inspired by my passion for our products and fueled by the desire to continue sharing the beauty of Indian street fashion, I made the decision to launch our shop online!
It was a moment of excitement and determination as I unveiled our carefully curated inventory to the world once again. Each item, untouched and waiting for its rightful owner, holds the essence of our rich heritage and the craftsmanship of our culture. By bringing our shop online, we aim to make these treasures accessible to a wider audience, allowing more people to experience the joy and elegance of ethnic Indian fashion.

We are dedicated to preserving culture by celebrating the beauty of handicrafts and valuing sustainable fashion, as all our products, except for "The Belly Dancer" collection, are crafted with an eco-friendly approach <3

History
Since our establishment in 2006, Simmi's Boutique has been at the forefront of Indian fashion. It all started when my stylish mom received compliments from classmates' parents, the Mission Dolores faculty, and our neighbors, revealing the genuine interest in Indian items. Inspired to share our culture with everyone, she embarked on a journey across India, building our inventory and showcasing our collection at booths and stalls in community events, such as fiestas, carnivals, and markets.
On August 15, 2011, Simmi's Boutique officially registered with the city. Thanks to the support of MEDA, we secured a prime location at 19th and Mission, where we opened our doors to the public. Being one of the first South Asian fashion boutiques in San Francisco, we are forever grateful to the Mission community and our friends. Living in this culturally rich part of the city provided us with a safe space to share fragments of our culture through Simmi's Boutique, where everyone can get their daily dose of desi.
Unfortunately, in 2014, we faced a family emergency that led us to temporarily close our doors. However, the year 2020 brought us a unique opportunity amidst the pandemic: to relaunch our boutique. And here we are, back and better than ever.

Policies
We prioritize your experience as our valued customers. However, due to the pandemic and being a small business, we cannot accept full returns. Instead, we offer a 14-day exchange* period for select items**. We understand that sizing can be a challenge, so if needed, we are happy to facilitate an exchange or provide store credit.
*Products returned for exchange undergo appropriate cleaning measures and are listed online as exchanged products.
**Select items include tops and bottoms that require sizing. Excludes "The Belly Dance" collection and Shawls/Pashminas.
